Symbols are often used as a form of shorthand to replace words such as the £ sign being used instead of writing pounds. These symbols are used in many subjects throughout a child’s school career however they always maintain the same meaning.
Symbols are formed using the same directional pushes and pulls of the pencil as those needed to form letters.
We have provided practice worksheets that can be printed off, to support your child as they start to learn how to correctly handwrite the symbols often used in school.
